Library Cards
A Lapeer District Library card is valid throughout the seven branches in the Lapeer District Library system. No materials can be checked out without a library card. Proof of residency must be provided for library card approval. When a patron owes over $4.00, borrowing privileges are forfeited until the debt is cleared. Please be aware that items checked out on your card become your responsibility. Card replacement cost is $1.00. All information is protected under the Library Privacy Act.
Residency
Anyone can use the Lapeer District Library locations regardless of his or her residence. Only residents of Lapeer County can borrow materials from the library without charge with two exceptions:
Residents of the legal service areas of other member libraries of the Mideastern Michigan Library Cooperative.
Patrons of other areas who can verify they are Michicard patrons.
