Document Actions

Public Computers

Internet access and Microsoft Office 2010 available.  The first 5 black and white printouts are free; additional prints are 10 cents per page, color prints are 50 cents per page.  A library card is required to log on to the public computers.

Free Wi-Fi

Wifi is available 24/7 at all Lapeer District Library locations.

 

Copy/Fax/Scan

Fax service  $1.00 use of machine fee, and 25 cents per page.
Copy machine  Black & White copies 10 cents per page;  Color copies 50 cents per page. Various paper sizes are available.
Scanning  Document scanning is available at no charge.

 

Microfilm Reader/Copier

Our machine is located upstairs in the fiction area. Copies are available first 5 are free and 10 cents per page after that. The collection includes Lapeer County Papers 1879-current; years 1889, 1902, 1913, and some random dates are missing. Funeral Home Records for Lapeer County Brown Funeral Home 1877-1963, Michigan Federal Census 1900-1920 and census for Lapeer County and surrounding areas 1820-1910. You are also welcome to bring in your own microfilm or microfiche to read on our machine. Any questions please call our reference desk at (810) 664-6971.

 

Computer Classes

Have you ever wanted to download the latest John Grisham to your Kindle, but weren’t sure how? Are you wondering what Freegal is and how you can use it to download free music? Do you own a business, and would like to use ReferenceUSA to create a mailing list, but are not sure where to start? Now you have a place where your technology questions can be answered! The Lapeer District Library will have staff available to work with you one-on-one by appointment to provide help with the technology topic of your choice.  Create an email address, a resume or a spreadsheet. Learn basic computer skills, discover a new database, or create a Facebook page, the choice is yours.

Please call the Reference Desk at the deAngeli Library at (810) 664-6971 to schedule your appointment. These 45 minute appointments will be available during day, evening and weekend hours. 

 

Book Discussion Kits

Book Discussion Kits are available for your book club to checkout. Each kit contains ten copies of the book, plus a discussion sheet. Kits are shelved at the Marguerite deAngeli Branch.

 

Notary Public Service

Available at the Marguerite deAngeli Branch.  The service is free and available by appointment.  Contact the reference desk at 664-6971 to make an appointment or for more information.

Marguerite deAngeli Collection

Marguerite Lofft deAngeli is one of the best known and highly regarded author / illustrators in American children's literature. Born in Lapeer, Michigan in 1889, she awarded the Newbery Medal in 1950 for The Door in the Wall, and was among the first to be inducted into the Michigan Women's Hall in of Fame.

The Lapeer District Library has a small collection of items about her life and works that is housed at the Marguerite deAngeli Branch. Items from this collection are on display in the library's meeting room and in various places around the building.
