After a long winter, the library is celebrating spring with an outdoor adventure. Karen will teach attendees to become wild gourmets as we begin to explore the outdoors hunting edible wild plants. We will spend time on wild plant identification, edible plant parts, safety considerations and ethical harvesting techniques. This program is a mixture of practical information, slideshow and hands on field-based practice with local plants. Bring gloves, walking shoes and no need for bug spray we will make our own with rosemary and lemon!
Karen is an outdoor environmental educator in the Lapeer area as well as a board member of the Lapeer Land Conservancy. She is striving to help people of all ages reconnect with nature and become more aware of our own natural resources in the wilds of Lapeer.
There is limited space for this exciting program, registration is required, please call (810) 664-6971.
