Kids 1,000 Page Challenge Events Calendar Printable Brochure (pdf)
Adults: Own the Night!
This easy program will reward you for your summer reading. Turn in a short review for each book read between June 11 & July 27. The first submission will be your registration into the program. Three submitted reviews complete the program and enter you into a drawing for a $50, $30, or $20 Meijer gift card. Every review submitted will be entered in a weekly prize drawing (book bags, books, and more). Each review submitted by participants who complete the program will be entered into the grand prize drawing, so the more you read the better your chance to win! Special programs include Self-Defense for Women; Oakdale Cemetery History and Tour; and more. Submit your entry online!
Teens: Own the Night!
Teens entering the 7th grade this fall through teens completing the 12th grade this spring are welcome to participate in the teen summer reading program. For every hour that a teen reads during the summer reading program (June 11- July 27), they receive a drawing ticket for prizes. These drawing tickets are entered into a weekly drawing for small prizes at your local library and into a district wide drawing of your choice at the end of the summer reading program for things such as: an iTunes card, a Lapeer cinema gift certificate, Polaroid 4GB Music/Video Player or other great prizes. Any completed book reviews will be entered into a special drawing. Teens that complete the teen summer reading program (reads at least 12 hours/turns in at least 12 tickets), will have all of their tickets entered into the drawing for the grand prizes: $50 and $25 in cash. Don’t miss the great programs that will be held throughout the summer reading program period! Calendar of Events
