CHILDRENS - Summer reading for children will run at all branches of the Lapeer District Library from Monday, June 15-Friday, July 31. Stop in at any branch, fill out a short registration form, receive your reading log, and start reading. Your goal is to read 15 minutes every day. After you have read your 15 minutes, mark off a circle on your log. If you really get into a book and want to read for thirty minutes, you can mark off two circles, or four circles for an hour's reading. When all the circles of the log are filled in, bring it back to your library and collect your prizes-a certificate of completion and a free book. As someone who has completed a log, your name with go into a drawing for cash prizes which will be distributed at the summer reading pizza party to be held on the evening of July 31 at the Marguerite deAngeli Branch. If, after completing one reading log, you want to continue reading, you can complete a second or a third, and your name will go into the drawing for each log turned in. This program is for all age children from birth to middle school. If your child is not quite reading yet, time spent reading to them is what you will be keeping track of.
